Safety and Occupational Health Manager

Responsible for planning, directing, coordinating andsupervising activities in the Area Office to implement theOccupational Safety and Health Act. Liaises with officials representing Federal, State, and local government organizations, as well as industry and employee organizations as the primary representative or point of contact of the Occupational Safety and Health Administration. Supervises the technical and administrative activities andprovides guidance to a staff of professional and support personnel. Determines seriousness of violations, types of citations, amountof proposed penalties, and abatement periods that may result frominspection. Conducts first level reviews, conferences with employers andmakes final judgement for modifying citations and penalties, andhears petitions for modification of abatement. Encourages voluntary compliance by providing assistance,information and consultation/guidance to employers and employees. Plans, execute and evaluates the technical training of complianceofficers. Applicants must have at least one year of specialized experience equivalent to at least the next lower grade level, GS-13, in the Federal Service in order to qualify for this position. This specialized experience must be in or directly related to the field of safety and occupational health that provided applicants with the specific knowledge, skills, and abilities to perform successfully the duties of the position. Qualifying specialized experience must demonstrate:
- Management of safety or occupational health program elements.- Developing and recommending safety and occupational health policy to higher levels of management.- Application of safety and occupational health laws, regulations, principles, theories, practices, and procedures to advise on or resolve technical matters dealing with occupational safety and health requirements.- Development of safety and occupational health standards, regulations, practices, and procedures to eliminate or control potential hazards.- Development or implementation of programs to reduce the frequency, severity, and cost of accidents and occupational illnesses.- Analysis or evaluation of new and existing jobs, processes, products, or other systems to determine the existence, severity, probability, and outcome of hazards.- Design or modification of workplaces, processes, products, or other systems to control or eliminate hazards.- Inspection or survey of workplaces, processes, products, or other systems, for compliance with established safety and occupational health policies or standards and to identify potential new hazards.- Training of workers, supervisors, managers, or other safety and occupational health personnel in safety and occupational health subjects- Experience in specific occupational fields such as industrial hygienist, safety engineer, fire prevention engineer, health physicist, and occupational health nurseSupervisory Qualification Requirements:

Estimated Salary: $20 to $28 per hour based on qualifications.

The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
