Aviation Safety Analyst

G-Band:
As an Aviation Safety Analyst, the incumbent Provides technical and program support to aerospace engineers, management, program managers and senior engineers in the New York ACO Branch. This support is to affect delivery of efficient and quality certification products to internal stakeholders, industry and foreign civil airworthiness authorities. The incumbent coordinates assigned duties with all stakeholders as appropriate. The incumbent provides accurate and timely information related to branch/section requirements and commitments.The incumbent performs a mixture of basic and routine (but progressively more difficult) assignments under the close direction of a manager, project/program manager, or more experienced technical specialist to complete assignments related to the following business processes:
processing Basic Supplemental Type Certificates (STCs) from foreign civil airworthiness authorities; processing domestic and foreign state of design STC transfers; processing requests from design approval holders seeking certification approval from foreign civil airworthiness authorities; and, processes non-complex Parts Manufacturing Approvals (PMA) and Technical Standard Order Authorizations (TSOA). For these processes, the incumbent reviews the applicant's technical information for completeness, generates FAA approval documentation, and tracks, analyzes and evaluates program status to assure adherence to schedules and delivery of program commitments.The incumbent applies basic technical knowledge and limited experience to accomplish assignments. Incumbent has responsibility for and preserves data records, files and correspondence across several technical and program management branches. Work tasks associated with the data sources will often be diverse and time critical. Incumbent will plan, organize and coordinate assigned resources to carry out task. The incumbent utilizes automation tools and prepare presentations to support branch, section, and program managers.H-Band:
The Aviation Safety Analyst at this level performs the duties above at a higher level of expertise. The incumbent applies experience and detailed regulatory and procedural knowledge to accomplish assignments, and demonstrates independence in planning time and using assigned resources. Established policies/procedures provide guidance for some assignments, but allow some discretion to select the most appropriate approach. Typically receives guidance on selecting approach from a manager, project/program manager, team leader, or more experienced technical specialist. The incumbent utilizes automation tools and prepare presentations to support branch, section and program managers. Contacts are primarily internal to the organizational unit, major subdivision, and AVS/AIR, with some contact with customers and external organizations. Contacts are typically intended to share information, provide data and/or written analyses, and discuss the statuses of assignments.Work is reviewed periodically during assignments and at completion to ensure timeliness and technical compliance with the requirements of the project or other work activity. For the FV-G level:
You must demonstrate in your application that you possess at least 3 years of progressively responsible experience, 1 year of which being equivalent to at least FG/GS-4, that demonstrates your ability to analyze problems to identify significant factors, gather pertinent data, recognize solutions; plan and organize work; and communicate effectively. Such experience may have been gained in administrative, professional, technical, investigative or other responsible work. Experience in substantive and relevant secretarial, clerical or other responsible work may be qualifying as long as it provided evidence of the knowledge, skills and abilities (KSA's) necessary to perform the duties of the position to be filled.OR, Education substitute:
Successful completion of a full 4-year course of study in any field leading to a bachelor's degree gained from an accredited college or university.For the FV-H level:
You must demonstrate in your application that you possess at least one year of specialized experience at the next lower level (FV-G/GS-5-9). Examples of specialized experience include:

The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
