Areas of Responsibility:
Participate in the assessment of each program participant's capabilities, training needs, and interests Participate in the development of an individual employment plan for each assigned program participant Provide training in areas identified as necessary to secure employment Develop employment opportunities for program participants Assist program participants in securing employment by supporting individuals in applying for employment, serve as a liaison between potential employer, program participant and other supports available Assist employer as necessary with position modification for participant Provide initial training and intermittent/ongoing monitoring of participant in learning their job requirements and social skills necessary to maintain employment until the participant is able to work there independently.
Provide route travel training and/or assist in securing alternative means of transportation to and from worksite.
Maintain ongoing contact with employer to identify any problems which arise and assist the individual in identify and addressing concerns in order to successfully maintain employment Maintain necessary contacts with family members, residence managers and service coordinator Maintain all required documentation Participate in all required/mandated trainings Maintain all certifications related to job responsibilities (driver's license) Accept specific assignments in the area of supported employment from the Employment Specialist Supervisor
Qualifications:
60 College Credits One year of experience working with individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities Excellent communication skills Basic computer proficiency Valid NYS Driver's license.
Estimated Salary: $20 to $28 per hour based on qualifications.
